STUDENTS. Just a reminder - Monache is a closed campus throughout the school day and students are not to leave campus without obtaining a Permit-to-Leave from the Attendance Office. Students with off campus classes are to ride the shuttle bus NO PRIVATE VEHICLES!! You should pick up a permanent pass from your counselor after school if you have a class off campus. 2. STUDENT ACTIVITY OFFICE INFORMATION: The Student Activity window is open before school (8:00-8:20), brunch, and lunch and after school until 3:30 pm on Monday thru Thursday. On Friday it is open before school, brunch and lunch but is CLOSED AFTER SCHOOL on Fridays. Please DO NOT come to the window during class time or after 3:30. 3. STUDENT DROP-OFF AREA - Students are to be dropped off on Henderson and/or Mulberry Avenues ONLY. Remind your parents that if they are waiting for you in the Student Parking Lot, they must be parked in a regular parking space. Also make sure that you are NOT dropped off at the Faculty Parking lot. 4. STUDENT BODY CARDS: Students are asked to carry their student body cards at all times. It will be necessary to use your student body card at the Activity Window to make all purchases. If you lose your student body card, a replacement card will cost you $5. 5. SCICON counselors needed: If you were a SCICON counselor last year or completed the HERO training and would like to go to SCICON during the 1st quarter, contact Mrs. Rugeroni at the front desk for more information. 6. STUDENTS: The only schedule changes that will be made are for missing classes or periods, level changes or misplacements. Come to the Guidance Office during that period only. NO ELECTIVE CHANGES WILL BE MADE. If you have any questions or concerns, please see your counselor after school. All changes must be completed by Friday, August 29. 7. ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES: Absences must be cleared by a parental phone call on the day of the absence or the day the student returns to school. If a note is used, a signature card must be on file in the Attendance Office. Notes may be brought to the Attendance office before school, at brunch and after school. Failure to clear absences will result in the student being assigned Saturday School. You only have 20 school days to clear up an absence.Three unexcused absences will result in notification of parents and disciplinary action. Truant students will be referred to the School Attendance Review Board (S.A.R.B.)Hall Passes: Students must have a hall pass to be out of class during class time. The penalty for being out of class without a pass is lunch detention.Permit to leave School: all students must have a Permit-to-leave School during the school day. Parents may phone the Attendance Office stating the reason for an off-campus request and the time the student will be gone. Students who choose to leave without a Permit-to-Leave will be assigned lunch detention. 8. SUDENTS: When exiting the Student Parking lot, you can ONLY MAKE A RIGHT HAD TURN. The police department will be monitoring people leaving the parking lot! 9. CAREER CENTER INFO: Pepperdine University will be hosting an Information Session to all prospective students. The program will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2003 from 3:00 5:00 pm at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Fresno 3737 N. Blackstone, (559) 230-8453. You may register on-line at: http://wavelink.pepperdine.edu 10. COLLEGE NIGHT will be held at the Visalia Convention Center on Monday, September 8, 2003 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Further information is available in the Guidance Office or in Civics and Economics classes. Please plan to attend this is a great way to talk to representatives from all types of colleges and vocational schools. 11. ALL ELECTED FHA-HERO OFFICERS are to attend a mandatory meeting at lunch in Room C-6 TOMORROW. All interested or returning members are welcome to attend. This is a planning for the year meeting, be there! 12. THIS FRIDAY IS PICTURE DAY! All freshmen and any students who did not take picture last spring need to have their picture taken for the yearbook and their ID card. Freshmen will be taking their pictures during PE classes. Anyone else who needs to take their picture may do so in the mini-gym before school, during brunch or lunch. 13 BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE THIS FRIDAY from 9 pm 12 am in the Student Center. Great music! Cute girls! Cute guys! Lots of fun! Come join the fun and bust your best moves!! You must have your Student ID to get in. Cost is just $5 for all that fun! See you there!! 14. CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS is offering up to 6 units of college credit by enrolling in one or two distance courses for $3.50 per course. The courses available are BIO 195 (Intro to Marine Life) and ART 100 (Looking at Art). These courses are open to juniors and seniors with a B average or better. STAFF: On Friday we will be on a split assembly schedule. There will be a back-to-school rally on Friday in the main gym during 2nd period. 3. ATHLETIC CONCESSIONS SIGN UPS: Club Advisors if you want to earn money you can sign-up for Athletic Concession Events. Please put your name and club or group on a card and give it to Randy Quiram ASAP. 4. TEACHERS: Please remind students that when exiting the Student Parking lot they MUST make a right hand turn only.
